[GRAPHIC: Legal Lines Tip, You May Have Disability Insurance]
Locke Meredith: Hello. I'm Locke Meredith and I have a Legal Lines Tip for you. Remember knowledge is power, and I want you to know that you probably have disability insurance. How you say? Because if you currently work or you've worked in the past, you pay taxes. And those taxes have purchased for you via the federal government social security disability insurance. You got it in all probability. The question is, can you obtain the benefits and how do you do that? First of all, you have to submit medical information that supports your disability to the social security administration office.
They typically are gonna deny your claim. But you have to appeal it, and you have certain deadlines within which you must appeal it. If you don't, you're gonna have to start all over. Once you do appeal it properly, you will have a hearing in front of an administrative law judge. That judge will hear the testimony and the evidence and make a decision. So my Legal Lines Tip from me, Locke Meredith to you is, you got social security disability insurance.
